This Privacy Policy explains how GaleraHub ("we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you use the GaleraHub Platform. We handle personal data in line with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) and its implementing rules.

1. Who is responsible for your data

GaleraHub and its operator act as the personal information controller for data processed through the Platform. You can reach us via our contact page for any privacy question or request.

• Account & profile — name, email, phone number, password (stored hashed), and any profile details you add.
• Listings & content — the listings, photos, descriptions, reviews and messages you post.
• Contact & leads — when you reveal a phone number, start a chat, or send an enquiry, we record that interaction to operate the service.
• Location — the barangay and map location you attach to a listing.
• Usage & device — basic technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages viewed, used for security and to improve the service.
• Cookies — small files that keep you signed in and remember preferences (see below).

3. How we use your information

• To create and operate your account and show your listings.
• To connect buyers and sellers (for example, enabling chat or revealing a contact number).
• To display genuine reviews and trust signals.
• To keep the Platform safe — detecting fraud, abuse and violations of our terms.
• To respond to your requests and provide support.
• To improve GaleraHub and understand how it is used.

4. Legal basis for processing

Depending on the activity, we rely on your consent, the performance of our service to you, our legitimate interests in running a safe marketplace, and compliance with legal obligations.

5. When we share information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only:

• With other users as needed for a transaction — for example, a seller sees an enquiry you send, and your public profile and listings are visible to others.
• With service providers (such as hosting and infrastructure) who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
• When required by law — to comply with a valid legal request, or to protect rights, safety and the integrity of the Platform.
• In a business transfer — if GaleraHub is merged or acquired, data may transfer as part of that transaction.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may affect how the Platform works.

7. How long we keep data

We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal data, subject to records we must retain by law.

8. How we protect your data

• Connections are served over HTTPS (encrypted in transit).
• Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text.
• Sessions use protected, HTTP-only cookies.
• Access to systems is restricted, and sensitive actions are logged for accountability.

No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable and appropriate measures to safeguard your data.

9. Your rights under the Data Privacy Act

As a data subject, you have the right to:

10. Children

GaleraHub is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

Listings or pages may link to third-party sites (for example, a map or an external ride-hailing service). Their privacy practices are their own; please review their policies.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use of GaleraHub after changes means you accept the updated policy.
